    Donald and Ruth Garvie and familyServing with Mission Africa in Nigeria

    Donald and Ruth are serving with Mission Africa in Nigeria, partnering with the United Evangelical Church. They are supporting the work of Peter Achimugu College of Theology (PACT) in Ankpa as it builds up the church through the training of pastors for ministry. Donald’s primary role is as college librarian while Ruth home–schools the children and is exploring opportunities to serve the local church.

    Josh has been lecturing at Namibia Evangelical Theological Seminary (NETS) since 2007. The Seminary offers theological courses up to degree level and lower level courses by correspondence. Cathy volunteers at a local primary school, runs a book shop for NETS and is involved with a local ladies Bible Study group. She is on a committee trying to reintroduce the Bible into schools across Namibia.

    Jim McAnlis (Associate)Serving with Fields of Life/Christianity Explored in East Africa

    Based in Ireland, Jim chairs the Health Committee of Fields of Life, seeking to improve the health of over 50,000 children in Fields of Life schools in East Africa. He is also co–ordinator for Christianity Explored (CE) in East Africa, working in partnership with Fields of Life, the aim being to focus on building the capacity of local church leaders, teachers and community leaders. This programme is designed as part of an overall vision to share the good news of Jesus with all people in these communities through providing resource materials and training, including the translation of CE study guides into local languages, and leaders’ guides based on the gospel of Mark. It requires a 2 to 3–year programme to launch and train church leaders in various districts.

    Based in Ireland, Paul works with Mission Africa (formerly Qua Iboe Fellowship) as Communications Officer. Mission Africa seeks to “bring the good news of Jesus to the people of Africa” working in Nigeria, Chad, Burkina Faso and Kenya, focusing on gospel outreach, medical care, theological training and compassionate work. Paul’s work involves engaging with supporters via print, electronic and social media channels.
